How to set up an eSIM on Xiaomi (Redmi) phone?

Before setting up your eSIM, there are three things you’ll need:

1. A stable internet connection – It's best to be on Wi-Fi or have a strong 4G signal.

2. Your Xiaomi phone should be unlocked to any specific mobile network.

3. Verify that your Xiaomi phone supports eSIM

We have listed the Xiaomi devices that are compatible with eSIM in the table below for your reference.

Before setting up eSIM on your Xiaomi phone, make sure it’s running the latest software updates. Some models might get eSIM support with a system update.

How to Set up an eSIM on a Xiaomi or Redmi?

1. Go to Settings.

2. Tap "SIM cards & mobile networks"

3. Scroll down until you find the "Manage eSIM" option and click on it.

4. Click "Add mobile plan"

5. Then you can add mobile plan by scanning your eSIM QR code or select "add manually instead"

If you choose "add manually instead", Copy and paste the full activation code for Android that was sent to your email (including LPA and the colon ':'. This is not a link, but rather a code to be entered in the designated space) ,after that, press "OK" > Click "Add" > This will enable the installation.

Note: This may take up to 10 minutes, please do NOT close this, or the installation will stop. 

If you are ready to use the installed eSIM data plan, just enable "Data Roaming" on your phone setting. Please note that your eSIM will not work without you having "Data Roaming" enabled.
