Three checks before you buy

1. Find Add eSIM

iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → Add eSIM. Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM. Menu names vary by software version.

2. Confirm it is unlocked

On iPhone, Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock should show No SIM restrictions. On Android, confirm the unlock status with the original carrier. eSIM hardware alone does not remove a carrier lock.

3. Check your exact version

An EID in Settings → About can help confirm eSIM hardware. It does not guarantee that a travel eSIM can be installed. Check the model number, regional restrictions and the plan's requirements too.

iPhones bought in China mainland

Apple lists iPhone 18 Pro (A3715), 18 Pro Max (A3718), Duo (A3721), 17e (A3635) and Air (A3518) as mainland models with eSIM. For these models, a non-mainland travel eSIM must be installed outside China mainland with Location Services enabled. Confirm Apple's current rules before purchase.

Hong Kong, Macao and imported phones

Some iPhones sold in Hong Kong and Macao use two physical SIMs; others support eSIM. Android imports can also differ from local models. Check the exact model number and Add eSIM menu instead of assuming all versions are the same.

iPad

Only eSIM-capable Wi-Fi + Cellular versions qualify. Examples include iPad Pro 11-inch (2018 onward), Pro 12.9-inch (3rd–6th generation), Pro 13-inch (M4/M5), Air (3rd–5th generation and M2/M3/M4), iPad (7th–10th generation and A16), and mini (5th/6th generation and A17 Pro). Mainland versions have additional restrictions. Wi-Fi-only iPads cannot install eSIMs.

Does an EID prove full compatibility?

No. It identifies eSIM hardware, but carrier locks, regional firmware and activation restrictions can still prevent installation. An IMEI or IMEI2 alone is not proof of eSIM support.

How many eSIMs can I use?

Stored profiles and active lines are different limits. Both depend on the device and software. Check the manufacturer's specification; do not delete a working eSIM just to test compatibility.

What if my phone has no native eSIM?

Check the ChillaxSIM eSIM Adapter requirements. An adapter is a separate product with its own device and SIM-slot requirements; it is not a universal fix for every phone.

During the eSIM installation process, the mobile device must be connected to the network. Please use mobile data or Wi Fi during the process of adding eSIM and ensure a good network environment.

When can I install my eSIM?

We highly recommend scanning the QR code for your eSIM installation just before you need to use it, such as before your flight departure or upon arrival at your destination. This helps prevent activation issues due to incorrect operations.

What are the differences between a total plan and a daily plan?

Daily Plan:?This plan provides a specific amount of data for each day. Once you use up your daily data allowance, you must wait until the next day or 24 hours from the activation or order time for the data to refresh. Specific refresh time may vary depending on the product.

Total Plan:?This plan offers a set amount of data that can be used at any time during the entire usage period, without daily limits. You can utilize the full data allowance according to your needs throughout the plan's duration.

Why does my eSIM have unlimited data but still experience speed limits?

In rare cases, operators may implement an international?Fair Usage Policy (FUP) to ensure equitable internet usage and maintain optimal connections for all users. This policy targets those who consume large amounts of data in a short period, such as through frequent live streaming or movie watching, by temporarily reducing their network speed or deprioritizing their connection.

Even with this speed limit, you can still enjoy HD streaming (1080p) without significant interruption.?Typically, these speed restrictions last no longer than one day. Although ChillaxSIM cannot control this policy, you can be assured that any?imposed limits will be lifted the following day, restoring your original plan speed.
